From Femi  Mustapha Kaduna

A Member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the Lower Chamber, Honourable Bello El-Rufai has enrolled 200 elderly persons into the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA.) to support the health financing of the beneficiaries.

The Chairman of the committee in charge of the beneficiary selection, Dr Jamil Haruna, gave the indication during the screening of the beneficiaries in Kaduna.

According to him, the initiative by Hon. Bello El-Rufai is a fulfillment of his pledge to protect and care for the people in his constituency.

He said that the committee which was set up by Mallam Bello was tasked with ensuring that no discrimination is faced during the selection process of the beneficiaries.

He explained that 15 elderly people with health challenges were selected from the wards that make up the Kaduna North Federal Constituency as beneficiaries.

Dr Haruna who expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture revealed that the  Lawmaker has promised to continue the good works according to his capacity to solve the issue of health challenges in the State.

“We have been tasked by Mallam Bello El-Rufai to enrol 200 beneficiaries in the healthcare problems especially elders in partnership with KADCHMA.”

“I feel very excited to enrol them, most especially the needy in the state which is very encouraging, and we pray that God bless him abundantly for the work well done.”

“We have been working with him and he has promised to continue in batches or phases because we have been working to see that it continues and by God’s grace, our target is 1000 per tenure.”

“This is what we have learned from the Kaduna State government under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani because health is now paramount to our society, so if this information can be spread in the churches, the mosques and other places, we will be very excited because 10,650 naira will be enough for your complete health care for one year.”

“I think it is the cheapest and the best scheme anyone can have. People in the community can get enrolled in KADCHMA and also enrol their families for this benefit.”

“For the selection process, we have selected them without political disparity, without religious or race disparity, without any form of discrimination, only that the person should be going through some health care challenge which is why we have Christians, Muslims and different tribes here, we don’t care about your political party, our main concern is your health issue.”

Speaking earlier, the Director General of Kadchma, Mallam Abubakar Hassan, expressed his joy for the kind gesture, saying that such acts mean progress for the State as it provides a good solution to the issue of health challenges suffered by the people.

“One of the Illustrious sons of Kaduna State, Honourable Mallam Bello El-rufai, who is representing Kaduna North at the National Assembly, has decided to adopt 200 persons for the first phase and they are all here today which means that having paid their subscription for one year, they will be entitled free medical examination, drugs, and other health care for one year after which they would have the opportunity to visit the hospital of their choice.”

” So what Mallam Bello has done today is one of the strategies we have adopted in KADCHMA which is contained in the adaptation strategy where we seek the support of well-to-do individuals who complement the effort of the government.”

“In the past, we have seen the likes of Honourable Morovia who enrolled 500 people under his constituency, we’ve seen Hon. Mukhtar Chawe from Kauru, Tudun Wada who also did that in his constituency and other philanthropists like Mallam Bashir Idris in Ja’ma and LGA, Mr Caleb of Caleb Foundation, we have seen people with knowledge beginning to take advantage of this to ensure that people are supported and government is also ensuring that people spend less from their pocket in terms of seeking for healthcare in Kaduna State.”

“So we are expecting to see more people in Kaduna State, the philanthropists, Businessmen entities, well-to-do individuals, who will key into this program.”

“What we are witnessing today is a major boost because the government of his Excellency, Governor Uba Sani gave us a major boost with the clear inclusion of the Contributory Health Scheme in his sustained manifesto of his Agenda under health and the government is saying that they are committed, they are looking at the  direction of maternal mortality, infant and child mortality in Kaduna State.”

“This is why this is important to Bello and I want to commend his efforts to ensure that people within his constituency benefit from the health scheme.”

“We call on those in the House of Assembly, even in the Senate and other areas to take advantage of this and ensure that people from their constituency benefit from it so that we can begin to see people get enrolled in the contributory health scheme. have good progress.”

One of the beneficiaries, Madam Esther Kayode, expressed delight at the kind gesture, for his goodwill towards his people, and prayed that God would guide and bless him.
