Radiologists across the country converged on the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri, Tuesday, August 18, to discuss solutions to emerging complex medical issues threatening the country’s healthcare delivery system.
Meeting under the the banner of the Association of Radiologists In Nigeria (ARIN) 9th Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference, tagged: Kanem 2026, the radiology experts explored the possibility of modern technology to upscale healthcare delivery in the country.
The President of the Association of Radiologists in Nigeria (ARIN), Dr Ebbi Robinson called for deployment of high-technology in the healthcare service to provide quicker solutions to medical problems in the country.
He described modern technology as the bedrock of contemporary medicine and quicker solution in diagnosis and medicare globally.
“This year’s conference brings together the brightest of radiologists in Nigeria to discuss modern techniques. Modern techniques in medicine provides better and quicker solution,” the ARIN helmsman declared.
He said as professionals, radiologists must present themselves as solution to medical issues. He said the conference is holding in Maiduguri to discuss this and make recommendations to improve healthcare services in the country.
Dr. Robinson described the conference as the highest decision making, calling on members to make meaningful contributions during the technical sessions.
Chief Medical Director of UMTH and host, Prof Ahmed Ahidjo, noted that radiologists play indispensable role in healthcare services. He said the significant role of radiology in healthcare continues to grow with the advancement in technology
He said the conference is useful for exchange of ideas, review of previous submissions, and advancement in technology
While reviewing his eight-year tenure as CMD, Ahidjo said he leaves the office early September with satisfaction having uplifted the hospital’s infrastructure, manpower snd technology. END
