Police arrest 2 rapists, several others for different crimes in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected rapists for defiling a seven-year-old girl in Lafia.

who paraded the suspects in  Lafia, said the command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.

Also paraded by the CP Jauro is about forty-one suspected criminals disturbing the 13 local local government Area of the state.
“On the 27th January 2025, at about 0900hrs, a complaint was lodge by one Madam Usman Mohammed of Lafia that his seven years old daughter was raped by one Yusuf Mamuda of Almakura street, behind burial ground, Lafia.
“Upon receipt of the report, the suspect was trailed and arrested; and he confessed to the crime, and investigation is ongoing”, the Police Commissioner said.
The suspect, Yusuf Mamuda has agreed to the crime, saying: “this is the third time I’m committing such crime of rape. I am also the one that raped the seven year old girl, I know it is the work of the devil”, the suspects said.
According to the police: “On the 19th January 2025, based on credible information, police operative intercepted one Hanuna Abdullahi, 33, from Mararaba junction, Karu LGA. A search on his vehicle led to the discovery of five bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp”, the commissioner noted.
The Commissioner further assured the public of continues peace and security of the citizens.
