This is a reflection on the reality of many prophecies which suggested the inevitability of uncertainties for Northern Nigeria, and if we continue on the path of unseriousness about education, human capital development and other indices of growth and development, we may be headed for doom.
We have been caught up under the entrapment of external and internal forces, witnessing an upsurge of insecurity orchestrated by foreign powers conspiring with the local elite and merchant of doom in order to exploit our resources for the benefit of imperialists and multinational collaborators, while the gullible citizens are preoccupied with myopic line of thinking influenced by misguided sentiments.
Truly, we are amiss, largely on the basis of internal contradictions and misgovernance, leadership crisis, incoherent policies and above all, inconsistencies in social relationships.
Therefore, to subscribe to the current happenings and wave of violence in Nigeria, Arewa is the worst hit with record of the highest killing spree, mass illiteracy, economic dislocation, political wrangling, abject poverty, life of squalor and endemic disease amongst the brothers and sisters from a region hitherto known for peace, prosperity and hope. These are sad manifestations of danger brewing especially in our region, the misstep and brainlessly unfit behavior of some of our elite and commoners owing to confusion surrounding their actions or inactions which have consequently resulted in despair and hopelessness for all.
Arewa, as a matter of urgency, needs multiple roundtable discussions on all the burning issues affecting the region. In this regard, open mindedness and neutrality should be the guiding principle without political inclinations to be able to chart the best way forward before we are totally plunged into oblivion.
