From Edem Archibong, in Calabar

Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has openly challenged opposition political parties candidates desiring to throw him out of office as Governor in 2027 Guber elections.

He warned that they cannot just jump out from anywhere to wrest power from him without the people knowing their political antecedent.

Otu gave the warning in Calabar, weekend, at a meeting with media practitioners, APC supporters and well wishers at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport upon his arrival from State engagement Calabar.

He said that “Cross River State is not for political experiment, we have gone past that level”.

He also declared that “we cannot toy with the future of Cross Riverians anymore, so if you want to come out. Let us see your political antecedents and what you have done before”.

Governor Otu boasted while claiming that his administration had in the last three years laid a solid foundation for a productive state.

He also attributed the progress made by his tenure of office as “sacrifices and divine intervention”.

The Governor categorically bragged that what he has done for the past three years have marvelled many, but that it was made possible because he came with a mandate to restore the state, revive the moribund assets that were lost over the years, expand the economic base, increase the GDP and touch all major sectors of development.

Commenting on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s record of achievement, Governor Otu extolled him at the national level of the economy, particularly for the ongoing reforms citing the alignment of Nigeria’s three major international credit rating agencies as proof of the progress recorded.

He assured that despite the hardship on the people, Cross River State Government under his administration will soon key into the emerging opportunities at the national level.

On the abandoned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Governor Bassey Edet Otu made a passionate appeal to them to exercise more patience on appointment because all the people cannot be millionaires in one day while promising that political appointment will certainly go round the people in a short while.
