From Sidi Ibrahim Kaulahi, in Gusau
The Zamfara State House of Representatives aspirant for Anka and Talata Mafara federal constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon Abdulrahaman Yahaya, has filed a case before the Federal High Court Gusau challenging claims that there was no primary election conducted as contained in a party constitution.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director Media and Strategy for the Campaign and Mobilization Committee of the aspirant, Nura Rabi’u Cibiki.
The aspirant resorted to legal action following an alleged move to forge membership cards to declare his opponent a winner.
The statement further said that members of ADC in Anka and Talata Mafara already have knowledge of the authentic membership strength and are fully prepared to defend the integrity of the party.
Meanwhile, the ADC aspirant for the 2027 Federal House of Representatives for Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency Abdulrahaman Yahaya has filed a suit against the irregularities at the party primaries which included the alleged attempt to illegally produce the party membership cards to be used against him.
According to the statement, the Court has formally received and acknowledged the suit, and fixed the 23rd of June, 2026 for hearing.
“We strongly oppose any move to manipulate or duplicate legitimate membership figures as such actions would only worsen the existing tensions within the party and the constituency of Anka/Talata Mafara”, the statement added.
The ADC supporters and members across the constituency have unanimously declared that while justice can be delayed, the truth cannot be denied.
