Barely few hours after the Niger state Governor Mohammed Umar Bago announced an offensive against terrorists to clear forests, suspected bandits have struck killing an 85 year woman in Kabe village of Borgu local government area of the state.
It was reliably gathered that the suspected criminals invaded Kabe community.
Kabe is a few kilometers from Kasuwan Daji where the bandits killed 42 villagers few weeks ago. There were fears the terrorists are operating without any security presence in the area.
Sources revealed that the attack took place around ten o’clock in the night of Tuesday in which one Hajiya Amina Adamu was killed in the process, while the suspects came in riding on many motorcycles carting away food stuffs and non-food items.
It could be recalled that the Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, had on Tuesday during his condolence visit to the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Dantoro Kitoro the 4th, where he gave two months to people living in hamlets around Kainji Lake to come out of the area to be resettled by the Emirate Council.

The resettlement of the people has become necessary to avoid collateral damage, as the government said they want to begin a military offensive to flush out terrorists in the area.
However, no official statement has been issued yet by the state command of the Niger state and the state government on the development at the time of filing in the report.
