The intervention seeks to to improve the facility for public access, tourism, and educational purposes.

Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Regional Development Uba Maigari Ahmadu said this in Bauchi, when he visited the Tomb as part of the Minister’s ongoing inspection and commissioning activities of completed NEDC projects across the state.

He said the rehabilitation work covered key sections of the facility, including the Museum and Library, the Tomb, the Reception Block, and Public Toilets (Male and Female), and commended NEDC for executing a good Job that honored the first Prime Minister.

In a related development, the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has emphasised the importance of synergy and a cordial working relationship between the Federal Government and subnational entities for the benefit of citizens.

The Governor said this in Bauchi when he received the Minister of State, Ministry of Regional Development, Hon. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, who led the Board and Management of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office.

Governor Bala said “Collaboration with the federal government and its agencies is key to growth and development.

Both state and federal governments have taken deliberate institutional steps to create a conducive atmosphere.”

He said that the NEDC symbolizes partnership, solidarity, and shared purpose between the federal government and subnational entities.

He stated, “On behalf of the government and people of both states, I express our profound gratitude to the North-East Development Commission for the sustained interventions in our states.”

Uba Maigari Ahmadu, said, “Your Excellency, we are in Bauchi, the residence of the first, and probably the last, Prime Minister of Nigeria, the late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, and the home of the revolutionary poet and nationalist, Mallam Sa’adu Zungur, of blessed memory.”

“Principally, we are here to supervise ongoing projects undertaken by NEDC and commission completed ones. These projects, by the grace of God, have been placed under our care courtesy of the creation of the Ministry of Regional Development by His Excellency President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the 24th of October last year.”

He said, “Your Excellency, these projects span several sectors, including education, health, infrastructure, commerce such as markets, and other areas that enhance the lives of Bauchi State residents.”
