* Urges President to sack more underperforming ministers

By Abdullahi Shugaba

A former Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in Jigawa State, Alhaji Ya’u Haruna Malammadori has again commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the creation of Ministry of Livestock Development and appointment of Alhaji Idi Maiha as Minister.

Malammadori who is also Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Northwest Geo-Political Zone stated this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

He lambasted the Ministers from the Core Northern Region of Nigeria of exhibiting nonchalant attitude to help President Tinubu in resolving the farmers/herders crises that bedevil the region.

“Tinubu alone cannot solve the reoccurring crises and criminalities in the Northern Region without the support of relevant stakeholders.

“He needed the support of his lieutenants who are the Ministers which he appointed but unfortunately, they are interested in awarding contracts to get their percentage but not the interest of their people at heart.

“Gentlemen of the Press, I believe if our Ministers have the interest of our people at heart, the reoccurring herders/farmers crises, cattle rustling, banditry and kidnapping in our region would have been subdued.

“But unfortunately, the Ministers are only after their pockets and families. We are with them, we know them and we will soon mention their names in the media anytime.

“They are not out to help President Tinubu. Some of these Ministers don’t even visit their states.

“Fulani herdsmen are initially marginalized, but with the creation of the Ministry of Livestock by President Tinubu, they will now feel belonged and they will have some reliefs.”

According to the former chairman, Fulani herdsmen are among the downtrodden in the country in terms of distribution of social amenities, they are now happy that President Tinubu has wiped their tears to realize their dream.

“We also thank Mr. President for appointing Idi Maiha as Minister for Ministry of Livestock in view of his vast experience in livestock production and agricultural development, a right peg is put in the right hole,” he noted.

Meanwhile, the APC Chieftain also advised President Tinubu to still beam his search light and get the Ministers doing nothing for the people in their states but pretending to be with him and sack them.

“I am talking from experience, some of these Ministers are not with him, and they are not helping him to improve the wellbeing of the citizenry,” he said.

Malammadori who played a great role in the presidential campaign of Tinubu expressed fear on the way and manner some of these Ministers are treating people badly at the grassroots.

According to him, if nothing is done to nip the problem in the bud, it will pose threats to their great party in 2027.

He expressed hope that, though there is economic hardship in the country but president Tinubu is doing his best to revamp the economy and put it in strong base that will stand the taste of time but needed support and patience of all and sundry.
