From Divine Macaulay, in Kaduna

A Shari’a Vourt sitting in Tudun Wada, Zaria, has adjourned the case of rape of a minor brought by businessman Ibrahim Jibril (a.k.a. yellow) in Zaria to 23rd October 2024.

Speaking during the hearing on Thursday, the presiding Judge, Malam Mustapha Mohammed Abdullahi, said the defense counsel, Messir. A.T. Abubakar was appearing before the Federal High Court in Kaduna in a suit filed by the NDIC against NARICT.

It would be recalled that the suspect was arraigned by the police on Sept.10, 2024, over an alleged rape.

The judge, therefore, adjourned the case to the 23rd for a continued hearing.
The father of the victim, Malam Aliyu Mohammed told newsmen that the Imam of their mosque reported the case to Alhaji Mohammed Mikail, ward, head of Gonar Ganye, Tudun-Jukun, Zaria.
He added that his ward leader reported the case to Police Headquarters, Tudun Wada Division.

Malla Aliyu explained that the suspect who happens to be his neighbour, lured his daughter to his room when she went to buy charcoal and maize flour at his house and then forced himself on her.

The father confirmed that he confronted the suspect (Yellow) at the mosque in Tudun Jukun over the case and he was remorseful about the whole situation and regretted carrying out his actions.
The case has been adjourned for the third time since the first court hearing.
