From Divine Macaulay, in Kaduna

Ahead of the local government elections slated for 19th October 2024 in Kaduna state, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Kaduna chapter has held a road show to educate voters on the need to exercise their franchise and vote for candidates of their choice.

The roadshow, which started at the Katsina Road office of IPAC, had in attendance officials of the council as well as officials of other political parties.
Security personnel, as well as Federal Road Safety officials, were present to provide security as well as to guide the traffic flow during the roadshow.

The IPAC officials who were spotted giving out leaflets finally stopped at the stadium roundabout to speak with newsmen about why they were holding the roadshow.

Speaking in an interview, the state chairman of IPAC, Hon Ahmad Tijjani Mustapha, remarked that they were holding the roadshow to sensitize and educate the voters about the local government election in the state slated for the 19th of October 2024.

“We also want people to know the importance of exercising their franchise during the election.,he stressed.
“You know local government is closer to the people and people ought to know that they have a duty to elect candidates of their choice without intimidation.

The IPAC chairman, who is also the state chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), also said we are educating the voters to know the significance of voting and that it will allow them to channel their complaints to the LG officials.

“He disclosed that so far the electoral body has not derailed, saying people should also understand that there’s no election that is hundred percent.

“We have drawn their (SIECOM) attention to areas we felt need to be addressed, and they have done their best. We are calling on all stakeholders to come out and give their contributions towards having a peaceful election in the state.
