Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has pledged to reconstruct a 19-kilometre road from Garo-Yar Riga-Randawa in Mashi Local Government Area of the state.
Malam Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor who made this known in a statement issued to Citizenship Daily in Katsina on Monday said Radda made the disclosure while inaugurating one of 60 newly established Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP) centres in Mashi, headquarters of Mashi Local Government Area.
According to Mohammed, the governor said the road project, has already been captured in the budget under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAMP) which will soon commence.
According to him,the reconstruction of the road will enhance connectivity in transportatingpeople and agric produce to commercial centres.
According to him, the Governor appealed to residents of the affected communities to remain patiently for the execution of the project.
He said that Governor Radda reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving both healthcare delivery and infrastructure across the state.
“The present administration under governor Radda is committed to transforming Katsina through better roads and better health care services”, the Chief Press Secretary said.
The statement further indicated that the road reconstruction forms part of efforts to improve the well- being of the rural dwellers, as well as to boost their economic activities.
Mohammed said that Governor Radda was accompanied to the inauguration by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir and his Principal Private Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji along with other members of the State Executive Council State.
