At least 11 person were reportedly killed on Christmas day as armed bandits attacked Ityuluv, Tse Azege in Nyiev Ya community of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.
A source in the community who pleaded anonymity said the attack was unprovoked as the bandits invaded the community burning down houses.
He said many persons were still missing, adding that leaders of the affected communities have reported the attack at police station.
When contacted, Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Security, Chief Joseph Har said he was informed of the incident but declined further comments.
He referred our correspondent to the Director General, Homeland Security, Air Commodore Gbawuam (rtd) whose number failed to connect.
