Panic struck travelers on Sunday as suspected robbers ambushed a commercial bus along the Makurdi–Naka highway.
It was gathered that all passengers were reportedly taken away at gunpoint into the nearby bushes.
Eyewitnesses said that the bus, which left Makurdi for Naka, was intercepted before reaching its destination.
The Chairman of Gwer West local government Mr. Victor Ormin area said it was a robbery incident, adding that the passengers were robbed and freed.
Meanwhile, the Benue State Police spokesperson, DSP Edet Udeme, stated she has not received an official report but promised to confirm and provide updates.
