Mass supporters and political appointees were on Saturday prevented from entering the All Progressives Congress,(APC) Secretariat in Kasina Metropolis along Dutsinma Road for the inauguration of the 2027 Gubernatorial/Presidential Election Campaign Council Committee.
The only person who gained forceful entrance among those blocked was Senator Moutar Dandutse representing Katsina Southern Senatorial District. He used thugs who charged through the blockade to pave way for him to gain entrance.
A Chieftain of APC who spoke to Citizenship Daily on condition of anonymity said that they would mobilize supporters to vote against the party.
He said that the development was very unfortunate and a result of poor arrangement.
“How can you call people for inauguration and lock them out”
Alhaji Rabe Tukur said with what happened, he was considering defecting from APC along with his teeming supporters to any party that knows their value.
One of the women leaders prevented along with her team but doesn’t want her name mentioned said that they were surely going to leave the party.
All efforts to speak with the APC officials or organisers of inauguration failed.
A correspondent of the Citizenship Daily Media who covered the event observed that many APC Chieftains, supporters, youths, women group and other newsmen were locked out of the event.
