From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani has said that the access to quality healthcare is not a privilege but a Fundamental Human Right for the People of the State to enjoy.

He said this while commissioning the newly upgraded Pharmagrade Warehouse at the Kaduna State Health Supply Management Agency (KADHSMA) today (Wednesday).

He said that the facility will lead to enhanced healthcare delivery which will ultimately improve the health and well-being of Kaduna State citizens.

The Governor disclosed that Kaduna State is one of the first states to pay the 15% counterpart funding for the warehouse upgrade, promising to renovate and upgrade identified warehouses in Zones 1 and 3 to Pharma Grade standard.

According to him, the commitment of his administration to excellence and innovation in healthcare delivery has led to national and international accolades adding that the PHC Leadership Challenge in Abuja had earlier ranked the state as the best in Primary Health Care in the North West zone.

“Our efforts have been recognized with 10 awards, both national and international, including the prestigious Excellence Award by the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).

‘’This warehouse is a symbol of our dedication to ensuring the continuous availability, efficient storage, and distribution of essential health commodities. By strengthening our supply chain, we are ensuring that life-saving medications and supplies reach every corner of our state,’’ he added.

According to Governor Uba Sani, upgrading the zonal warehouses will further improve the accessibility of quality drugs to the good people of Kaduna state.

The Governor expressed gratitude to development partners like the Global Fund and UNICEF, as well as Fidson Healthcare and Emzor Group for their support noting that their contributions have enabled the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency to mature and reach the “ready to integrate.’’
