The Kaduna State Police Command has refuted false claims regarding the alleged kidnapping of 150 to 200 individuals along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s spokesperson, addressed the misleading reports circulating on social media saying that there has been no recorded incident of kidnapping on this route in the past two years.
“The area is continually monitored and is under 24-hour patrol by the Police, Military, DSS, and other security forces to ensure the safety of all commuters,” he stated.
The Commissioner of Police issued a strong warning to individuals and media outlets against spreading such misinformation, which can incite unnecessary panic and disrupt public order.
Furthermore, the Command is taking this issue seriously. Any online media channels or individuals found to be creating or sharing such fabricated information without credible sources will be questioned, thoroughly investigated, and may face legal action.
The State government, in collaboration with security forces and agencies, is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals and property.
The Kaduna State Police Command remains dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all residents and encourages the public to rely only on verified and official sources of information.
