Police arrest kidnapper, recover ransom in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested one Abdulkarim Zakari over alleged kidnapping and collection of ransom.
The command made this known in a statement by its public relations officer, Ramhan Nansel, made available to journalists in Lafia.
The command said on 27th October, 2024 at about 1130hrs, police operatives attached to 38 PMF Akwanga in collaboration with men of the Nasarawa Eggon Division arrested one Abdulkarim Zakari of Konba village, Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State in connection to a case of kidnapping.
The statement added that the sum of five hundred and forty seven thousand Naira was recovered as part of the ransom received by the suspect after kidnapping a Fulani man in Arugbadu village of Nassarawa Eggon local government area of the state.
The State Police command explained that ” in its fight against criminals it arrested a suspected Kidnapper and recover the sum of Five Hundred and Forty-Seven Thousand Naira said to be part of his share of the ransom collected for the kidnapping of one Cironman Fulani at Arugbadu village of Nasarawa Eggon LGA.”
The command said upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to be part of the syndicate that kidnapped Ciroman Fulani at Arugbadu where they collected ransom of five million Naira one point two million naira was given to him as his share of the ransom.
The police added that it has launched a manhunt for the other fleeing members of the syndicate to arrest them.
The statement of the command commended the officers for sustaining the onslaught against criminals in the state.
