The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested four armed robbery suspects and a motorcycle snatcher in different parts of the state.
Ramhan Nansel, the command’s public relations officer made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in lafia.
He said at about 0345hrs, a distress call was received by the Divisional Police officer, New Karu Division in Karu local government area on an armed robbery operation.
He said the suspects attacked and disposessed the residents of the High Tension Community of their belongings.
He explained that the Police personnel swiftly mobilised and moved to the scene and upon sighting the operatives, the hoodlums took to their heels, but were given a hot chase that led to the arrest of 4 of the suspects, namely Abubakar Nasiru (21 years) , Yusuf Abdullahi (18 years), Bashiru Sani (35 years) , and Ibrahim Adamu all males of New Karu.
He said upon interrogation, 2 Laptops, 8 mobile phones of different brands, 1 Power Bank, an MP3 Player, 3 ATM cards, one Dane gun, a flat screen television set, 3 flash drives, 1 cutlass and a caterpult were recovered from the suspects.
Also arrested by police operatives attached to Karshi Division is a notorious motorcycle snatcher, Danjuma Mujumba of Orozo of FCT Abuja.
The command said the suspect has attacked an unsuspecting commercial motorcyclist and snatched his Bajaj Motorcycle before nemesis caught up with him.
The PPRO said for further investigations, the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Lafia for thorough investigation and prosecution.
