The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s security architecture and effectively address emerging security threats.

This commitment was reiterated during a courtesy visit by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedo, to the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Onyechi Appolonia Anele, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja on July 15, 2026.
During the meeting, Colonel Anele emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation among security and intelligence agencies, noting that the evolving nature of security challenges requires a coordinated and unified approach.
She stressed that effective intelligence sharing, operational coordination, strategic communication, and institutional support remain critical to achieving lasting security across the country.
The Acting Director of Army Public Relations congratulated CSP Iniedo on his appointment and reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s readiness to strengthen its longstanding partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies.
According to her, the Army remains committed to the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, which focuses on transforming the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptive, combat-ready, and resilient force capable of operating effectively within a joint and multi-agency security framework.
She noted that stronger collaboration between the Army and the Police would further enhance ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality threatening national peace and stability.
Colonel Anele also expressed confidence that improved inter-agency cooperation would contribute significantly to building public trust and confidence in Nigeria’s security institutions.
In his remarks, CSP Anietie Iniedo commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism, sacrifices, and operational successes in various joint security operations across the country.
He observed that the enduring partnership between the Army and the Police has played a vital role in improving internal security and maintaining public order nationwide.
The Force Public Relations Officer further advocated closer collaboration between the public relations departments of both institutions, stressing the need for coordinated strategic communication to counter misinformation, promote public awareness, and project a unified national security narrative.
He emphasized that effective communication remains a key component of modern security operations and can help strengthen public support for the efforts of security agencies.
The visit underscored the shared determination of the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force to sustain and expand their cooperation in support of the Federal Government’s security objectives and the collective pursuit of a safer and more secure Nigeria.
