Nasarawa Govt. to construct another stadium in Lafia

The Nasarawa State government has said it would construct a Mini Stadium in Lafia, the State Capital.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of the state made this known while receiving members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) who were in the state for annual executive council meeting of the association.
Governor Sule expressed his administration’s commitment in revamping sport in State said the role of sports in bringing peace and development can never be underestimated hence the reason for upgrading sporting facilities across the state.
He explained that his administration is ready to build a mini stadium in Lafia and other local government areas of the state, which he said would go a long way in promoting sporting activities especially among the thousands of youth population in the state.
Earlier, National President of SWAN, Benjamin Isiah informed their host that members of the delegation are in Lafia for the National Executive Council NEC meeting 2024 which holds between Tuesday 10th to Thursday 12th, December 2024.
Isiah use the medium to appreciate the governor for his contributions towards sport development in the state and Nigeria at large.
He said the Governor had set the pace by been the first governor to host SWAN leadership in the country and challenge other governors to emulate from the gesture.
During the visit, Governor Sule was presented with a Sport Icon Award, Certificate and a Medal by the SWAN.
