Abdullahi Shugaba, Katsina

The Director General((DG), of the Governor Dikko Radda Agenda in Katsina State, Hajiya Asamau Abu said that the Governor’s trip for security summit organized by the United States Institute for Peace (USIP), in US is not just a trip but is a strategic move to significantly fight banditry and other security challenges in the state.

Hajiya Asamau Abu made this known in a statement issued to the Citizenship Daily, in Katsina on Monday.

According to her,. USIP is a renowned organization dedicated to building peace around the world. This summit brings together experts, policymakers, and security officials with vast experience in tackling complex security challenges where Governor Radda will have a unique opportunity to learn from best practices implemented in other regions facing similar issues and to discuss potential collaborations with international partners for intelligence sharing, training programs for local security forces, and even explore options for financial aid dedication to fighting banditry.

He will secure resources and funding opportunities that could significantly bolster Katsina’s security efforts and have access of Networking with Global Partners along with the ten (10) governors directly facing similar challenges.

“The Governor will also build relationships with international stakeholders, including security agencies, NGOs, and private sector entities with resources and expertise relevant to combating banditry.

The Governor will attract potential investors and partners who might be interested in contributing to the economic and social development of Katsina, potentially creating job opportunities that can deter youth from resorting to banditry.

Governor Radda will serve as the Chief Marketing Officer for the State as well as to showcase the severity of the banditry crisis in Katsina and its impact on the people.

He will advocate for international support and raise awareness of the state’s specific security needs and attract potential investors and donors who can contribute to rebuilding infrastructure, fostering economic growth, and addressing the root causes of banditry such as poverty and lack of opportunity.

The summit will allow Governor Radda to explore potential partnerships and collaborations with international organizations, technology companies, and training institutions.

He will also seek for resources and funding crucial for scaling up Katsina’s security efforts, potentially leading to better equipment, advanced training programs, and a more robust security infrastructure.

The Governor will attract international expertise that can complement local efforts and find innovative solutions to combat banditry in the state.

While concerns about travel expenses are understandable, it’s important to consider the potential long-term benefits. The potential gains from this summit in terms of funding, expertise, and partnerships far outweigh the cost of travel, especially if it leads to a more peaceful and prosperous Katsina.

By attending this summit, Governor Radda demonstrates proactive leadership and a commitment to finding lasting solutions for Katsina’s security challenges. This is an investment in the future of the state, its people, and its economic development. End.
