The Central Planning and Coordinating Committee for the Coronation of the newly installed Aren Eggon, His Royal Highness, Honourable Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku I, OFR, ex Chief Judge (CJ), of Nasarawa State has set aside date for the event.
The committee said in a statement that the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has approved Saturday, 13th June, 2026, as the official date for the presentation of Staff of Office to the current Aren Eggon.

This is contained in a statement by the Chairman of the Committee, Rt Hon.Danladi Jatau, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and the Alternate Chairman, Alhaji Isiyaku Abdullahi, the Galadima Eggon.
The signed statement was issued to the Citizenship Daily in Abuja.
According to the release, the historic event will formally usher-in the reign of His Royal Highness, Justice Ahmed Ubangari Alaku the 1st as the Paramount Ruler of the Eggon Nation and one of the foremost traditional rulers in Nasarawa State.
The Committee recalled that Justice Ubangari ascended to the revered stool of Aren Eggon, the paramount traditional ruler of the Eggon people upon his selection by the Eggon Kingmakers on Friday 5th May 2023 after the demise of his predecessor, His Royal Highness, Dr. Bala Abaine Angbazo.a 0
The Committee disclosed that prior to the selection of the current Aren Eggon, he dutifully served as the Wazirin Eggon during the reign of his predecessor, HRH Dr. Bala Abaine Angbazo (MFR, JP), who passed on, on Wednesday 13th July 2022.
According to the Committee the coronation of the Aren Eggon will significantly mark the presentation of a Staff of Office to an Aren Eggon after the four decades.
The last of it’s kind took place on Saturday 12th February 1983, when the then Governor of Plateau State, Chief Solomon Daushep Lar, presented the Staff of Office to the late Dr. Bala Abaine Angbazo then.
The Committee noted that the Aren Eggon stool was upgraded to 1st Class Status on the 1st of June 1982 by the then Plateau State Government under the watch of governor Lar of the blessed memory.
“The forthcoming ceremony will represents not only a celebration of royal heritage and cultural identity, but also a historic milestone for the Eggon people across Nasarawa State, Nigeria, and the diaspora”,the Committee added..

The Committee urged all Eggon sons and daughters, traditional institutions, community leaders, political leaders, stakeholders, friends, associates, and well-wishers of the Eggon nation to prepare to be part of the epoch-making event.
The release further stated that the occasion will be used to showcase the cultural heritage, unity, and enduring traditional values of Eggon People.
The Committee therefore appealed to all invited guests and stakeholders to cooperate with constituted authorities along with the planning committee to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free occasion.
