Governor Radda congratulates Katsina female student on Victory at U.S Exchange Programme

The Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated Miss Halima Sa’adu, a student of Sarki Umar Faruq Umar (SUFU) Secondary School, Daura, for her exceptional performance in the prestigious Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Programme in the United States of America, (US).

The commendation was contained in a statement issued to the Citizenship Daily Newspaper in Katsina on Monday 8th June, 2024 by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Radda.

According to him, Governor Radda described Halima’s achievement as a source of pride and inspiration to the people of Katsina State, noting that her success is a clear reflection of the immense potential of Katsina youths when provided with opportunities .

He said Halima, represented Nigeria in the highly competitive international exchange programme and distinguished herself during her one-year academic sojourn in Sylvan Hills High School, Arkansas, where she emerged as the Best Student of the Month for January 2026.

She also earned Certificates of Proficiency in both English and Hausa Languages showcasing her academic excellence, cultural values, and leadership qualities.

The Governor noted that Halima’s success vindicated his administration’s sustained iutput to compete favourably with their peers nationally and internationally.

The Governor further commended the Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education under the leadership of Honorable. Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia for its dedication to nurturing excellence and creating pathways for students to access global opportunities.

He explained that Halima was among the only seven Nigerian students who succeeded for the prestigious programme that offered and equipped them with the skills, academic exposure, and cross-cultural experiences while serving as ambassadors of their countries.

Governor Radda expressed confidence that the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills acquired by Halima during the programme would positively impact on her future endeavors and inspire other students across the state to follow suit.

Governor Radda congratulated the parents and her teachers for the feat
recorded.
