The Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the installation of 30 Solar Power Grid across the 361 Electoral Wards in the state and series of strategic interventions aimed at improving education delivery, expanding economic opportunities, and strengthening climate-responsive governance across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr. Salisu Bala Zango disclosed this while briefing newsmen after the State Executive Council Meeting in Katsina on Wednesday.


Zango explained that these approvals demonstrates the administration’s commitment to deliver dividends of democracy to the people which aligned with governor Radda’s Administration in Katsina state.
Again, the Special Adviser on Power and Energy, Dr. Hafiz Ahmed, who announced the approval of 30 solar-powered lights to Tsangaya schools
explained that the intervention is aimed to enhance learning conditions in Almajiri Tsangaya Schools especially during evening hours to ensure their safety.
According to him, the initiative will create a more conducive learning environment in Tsangaya schools and support ongoing efforts to modernize and integrate the Almajiri education system into formal system”.
While speaking after the council meeting, the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), Dr. Babangida Ruma also disclosed that the Council has also approved the award of contract for the fabrication and installation of 2,000 standard modular kiosks under the Katsina Road Corridor Enterprise Infrastructure Programme.
Ruma noted that the kiosks are intended to replace makeshift roadside structures currently used by nano and micro businesses, providing safer, durable, and organized trading spaces.
According to him, the kiosks will be constructed with galvanized steel frames, reinforced structures, lockable doors, and proper ventilation to ensure durability and security for business operators.
He added that the project will improve the visual outlook of urban corridors while strengthening small business resilience and economic activity across the state.
Hafiz Ahmed also disclosed that Council approved the adoption and institutionalization of Climate Change Budget Tagging across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Local Government Councils.
He explained that the policy will apply to all climate-related programmes, projects, procurement processes, and public expenditures in the state.
According to him, the reform will strengthen Katsina State’s response to climate change while improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public financial management.
“This initiative will enhance socio-economic resilience, improve agricultural productivity, strengthen water resource management, and support sustainable development across key sectors,” he noted.
It was quoted after briefing newsmen that Governor Radda recently made history at the ChangeNOW 2026 Summit in France, where he became the first Nigerian leader to deliver a keynote address at the global Summit
“During the summit, the Governor highlighted climate transformation and showcased Katsina State’s renewable energy drive, including plans for the revitalization of the Lambar Rimi Wind Farm”
“This latest approvals further reflect the administration’s commitment to translating global engagements into actionable local development initiatives”.the statement added,”
The statement further indicated that the Council’s decisions underscore Governor Radda’s commitment to building a resilient, inclusive, and economically vibrant Katsina State through strategic investments and forward-looking reforms in the state
