The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Diplomat Zipporah Kela of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who until her death was serving on special assignment at the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Ismaila Uba Misilli, the
Director-General, (Press Affairs)
at theGovernment House
Gombe said in a statement late Wednesday.

Describing her passing as deeply painful, Governor Inuwa Yahaya noted that the death of the diplomat is not only a personal tragedy for her family and community but also a significant loss to Gombe State, Nigeria and the country’s diplomatic corps.

A native of Tanglang in Billiri Local Government Area, Ms Zipporah Kela had served with distinction at the Nigerian embassies in Banjul, The Gambia, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she was acknowledged for her professionalism and contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s international relations.

The Governor lamented that, “Diplomat Zipporah died in her prime, with so much promise ahead of her. She was a rising star in Nigerian foreign service and a proud ambassador of Gombe State”.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya extended his heartfelt condolences to her father, Professor S. L. Kela, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere, as well as to her colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Presidency.

He prayed Almighty God to repose her soul and grant her eternal rest, while also consoling her family and loved ones to find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
