In recognition of his exemplary contributions to public sector communication, the Director General of Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, has received the prestigious Spokespersons Gold Certificate, Public Sector (State) category conferred on him by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in partnership with the Image Marchant Promotion Limited (IMPR).

The Certificate of Excellence was presented to Misilli at the National Spokespersons Awards 2023 ceremony held on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja marking the end of activities for the 3-day maiden National Spokespersons Summit unveiled by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi.

The Spokesperson Awards Programme serves as a distinctive platform to honour and recognize spokespersons for their exceptional contributions on a national scale.

The Jury Sub-Committee of the National Spokespersons Awards, set up by the NIPR and the Ministry of Information, found Misilli worthy of award of excellence among other spokespersons operating across the states.

The organisers of the event, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in collaboration with Image Marchant Promotion Limited (IMPR), emphasized that Ismaila Uba Misilli was selected for this recognition based on his exemplary performance meeting stringent selection criteria, which included strategic clarity, storytelling prowess, audience engagement, and overall impact.

They also highlighted Misilli’s outstanding eloquence, integrity, and effectiveness in fulfilling his communication responsibilities.

“Misilli’s journey to receiving the Spokesperson Gold Award is marked by a distinguished career in the media landscape. With over two decades of experience in journalism and public relations, Misilli has demonstrated commitment to excellence in his field, as evidently exemplified in his role as Director General of Press Affairs, where he introduced innovative approaches to disseminating information, engaging with the public, and promoting government initiatives and activities.”

Speaking after receiving the award, Ismail Uba Misilli expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed upon him, and dedicated the award to the support and encouragement of his principal, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya as well as the hardworking team at the Press Affairs Directorate of Gombe Government House, while reiterating his commitment to upholding standards of professionalism and the principles of transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in all aspects of his work.

While reacting to Misilli’s recognition for outstanding performance, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, praised Misilli’s dedication to serving the public, emphasizing the pivotal role of effective communication in driving development and fostering democracy, to which Misilli is contributing in his administration
