Comrade Sulaiman
From Abdullahi Ishaq Shugaba, in Katsina
The Funtua Unity Foundation (FUF) has expressed strong objection to recent claims made by one Garba Abubakar Dan Musa regarding the status of Maska District in an interview concerning the proposed restructuring of the Katsina Emirate Council.
In a statement released to the Citizenship Newspaper in Katsina on Thursday, the Chairman of the Foundation, Comrade Mannir Moh’d Sulaiman, described the remarks made by Mr. Dan Musa as false, misleading, and a distortion of historical facts.
Comrade Sulaiman emphasized the rich historical significance of the Maska Dynasty, which dates back to the 15th century.
He urged individuals making public statements on such sensitive matters to consult credible historical sources in order to avoid disseminating inaccurate information.
“The community and members of the Royal Family of Maska District will not accept such a mischievous misrepresentation,”
The Forum Chairman called on Mr. Dan Musa to retract his misleading statements in the interest of peace and public harmony.
According to him, the remarks reflected lack of respect for the revered Katsina Royal Dynasty, an institution that has long symbolized unity and cultural heritage in the region.
Comrade Sulaiman urged the general public to stand steadfast in protecting and preserving their historical legacies of their communities for future generations.
It will be recalled that Mr. Dan Musa in a statement said that Maska Dynasty initially belongs to Zaria Emirate not Katsina Emirate, a statement which the Forum and the entire Funtua Community frowned at.
