The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminilaya Fubara on Saturday reunited with the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike and the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule as the trio attended the burial ceremony of the Minister’s uncle, the late Elder Temple Omezuruike Onuoha at the family residence of the deceased at Rumuepirikom, Wike’s ancestral home in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The suspended governor is making the first public appearance with the Minister less than 48 hours after truce was brokered between the duo by President Bola Tinubu.
Both the suspended governor, the FCT Minister and the Speaker of the Assembly have been avoiding e during the Rivers State political crisis.
Rt. Hon. Amaewhule who led members of the Tenth Rivers State House of Assembly, while paying their final respect to the deceased, described him as a man of integrity with unwavering commitment to family values.
The Speaker commiserated with the Minister of the FCT and the entire Onuoha family, urging them to take solace in the impactful life the late Onuoha lived, and the legacy of peace and love he bequeathed.
The burial ceremony which was marked by Christian rites, family tributes and words of comfort from clerics witnessed the presence of dignitaries across the country.
