The newly promoted Professors included Dr. Sheu Adaramaja Lukman of the Department of Educational Foundations, Dr. Abubakar Adamu Masama of the Department of Arabic, Dr. Ja’afar Agaji Abdullahi of the Department of Islamic Studies, Dr. Taofiki Aminu of the Department of History and International Studies and Dr. Linus Akor Yusuf of the Department of Sociology.
Others included Dr. Bashir Umar Faruk of the Department of Economics, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Haruna of the Department of Educational Foundations, Dr. Umar Sodangi of the Department of Science Education, Dr. Aminu Jabbi Muhammad of the Department of Biological Sciences.
Others promoted were Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Bichi of the Department of Geography, Dr. Yahaya Alhassan of the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Samaila Musa of the Department of Computer Science.
Similarly, the statement further disclosed that the Council has approved the promotion of twelve other academics to the rank of Reader, stating that the promotions underscore the unwavering commitment of the University to recognising merit, rewarding hard work, and strengthening excellence in teaching, research, and community service in line with its core mandate.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council, Rt. Hon. Engr. Aminu Sani Isa, congratulated the newly promoted academics and urged them to regard their elevation not merely as recognition of their outstanding achievements but also as a call to greater responsibility, professionalism, diligence, and selfless service to the University and society.
Also commenting on the development, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tukur Adamu, felicitated the beneficiaries and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by sustaining excellence in teaching, conducting impactful research, providing academic leadership, and mentoring the young academics.
He reiterated the University’s relentless efforts towards providing an enabling environment that empowers Academic Staff to attain their full potential and contribute meaningfully to national development through quality teaching, innovative and community-based research.
