Yet to be identified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped the Nasarawa State Chairman of Butchers Association, Yunusa Mohammed Goma along side 2 others.
Chairman, Lafia Cattle Market, Ahmed Sale Matasa who confirmed this in a telephone interview with Citizenship Daily in Lafia said the victims were abducted after the Isha’i Prayer (night prayer).
He said the victims were picked at the cattle market where they normally stay before going home after the night prayer.
Matasa said “we were not far from the location of the incident when we heard of gunshots and upon getting there only for us to be informed that Yunusa Mohammed Goma, the state Chairman of Butchers Association with two of his friends were abducted by the gunmen”
According to the Lafia Cattle Market Chairman, “before the kidnapping, the abductors engaged in sporadic shootings and two women hit by the bullet were taken to medical facility in Lafia.”
Other sources that corroborated the Lafia Cattle Market Chairman said the suspected kidnappers came in large number, hid their motorcycles a little bit far away from the location of their victims.
The sources said “the abducted persons were together with several people who ran and escaped the incident and it was in the course of shooting them while running that two women were hit by the bullets.
Speaking to Citizenship Daily at the time of filing this report, Police Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command said the incident had not been reported to the Command but promised that investigation would immediately be carried out
