The Managing Director, Benue Digital Infrasturcture Company, BDIIC Plc Terwase Gbande has disclosed plans to generate 53 billion naira from the digital economy in three years.
Gbande who made the disclosure at a briefing in Makurdi held at the NUJ house, on Monday, said already about 20,000 jobs have been provided, while 40, 000 civil servants have been trained in digital technology.
He said BDIIC is an interventionist company serving both government and and the public, adding that it is a wholistic platform to drive e- governance with a projection of 100, 000 jobs in the next 3 years target
Said he: “We drive digital economy and inclusion.
We are partly owned by Benue Government, local govt and indigenes. We are working with stock exchange for listing
“BDIIC intends to establish 23 digital Hub in the State with 1000 computers for each hub. Tax register for revenue collection and multiple tax will b on a single platform. We have galaxy, Huawei and African data center as partners
“We are creating a platform that will profile artisans and other skilled labor that will help in security checks
“I was in China recently and signed an MOU for assembling computer locally in the State. We intend to create 276 e-commerce hubs to assist in accessing markets and help farmers have value for their goods. We have e-learning platform for 2000 students in different subjects in the State, it is 70 percent completed”.
