From Divine Macaulay and Edirin Robinson, in Kaduna

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the appointment of Ahmad Musa Kida as the new Non-Executive Board Chairman and Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the Group Managing Director to pilot the affairs of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

This was contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary ACF Prof. T. A. Muhammad-Baba. and made available to the media in Kaduna today, Thursday.

The statement stated that the Forum is not surprised about Kida’s appointment by the President, given his proven ability and demonstrated competence in the oil sectors over the decades.

ACF stressed that the new appointees are well-qualified industry experts with decades of on-hand professional and unblemished experiences, in both public and private segments of the oil and gas sector of the national political economy.

ACF expressed confidence that the new appointees have the capabilities and capacity to deliver on their mandate.

“Trusting that the new team will be guided by nothing but patriotism, accountability, and the universal principles of good corporate governance and social responsibility.

“It is equally heart-warming that the appointments of the new team, both Northerners, reflect a needed national spread, proving the point that all sections of Nigeria are endowed with great human resources that can be deployed to pilot the affairs of any and all sectors for the good of .

“ACF wishes the erstwhile team a happy retirement.

” We commend the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration for this confidence-inspiring initiative. It is indeed a fresh breath of affairs for Nigeria, as reflected in the widespread welcome that the appointments continue to receive.

“We believe that the duo and teams will justify the confidence reposed upon them by the President.

“ACF makes this fervent wish cognisant of the many needless controversies that envelop this national asset over time. We wish them all the very best, even as we charge that the new teams cannot and should not disappoint. We also call on all Nigerians to give them the needed support.

The Forum also commended the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Administration for this confidence-inspiring initiative.

” It is indeed a fresh breath of affairs for Nigeria, as reflected in the widespread welcome that the appointments continue to receive. We believe that the duo and teams will justify the confidence reposed upon them by the President.”
