By Ahmadu Garba

Since 1999, when Nasarawa State was governed by democratically elected leaders, the yearnings and aspirations of the people were not fully met.

With the emergence of Abubakar Abdullahi Giza, popularly known as Abu Giza who secured the Gubernatorial ticket on the platform of Zenith Labour Party ( ZLP) ahead of the 2027 Election even before the party primaries, the narative on the Nasawa State Politics will change for the better. From all political calculations and narratives it will no longer be business as usual.

Abdullahi Giza

Those who held the notion that political power is inherited by the anointment of a small circle of influential individuals who dictated political decisions under closed doors, should rather discard that thinking for the better.

In a build-up to the 2027 General Elections, Abu Giza is determined to break that jinx.

He is silent fighter with strong followers who believe in him and his ideas, they see him as an Emancipator, they considered ZLP not not only as a party but as a protest movement against the exploiters and self- centred individuals.

His followership is growing day by day in Nasarawa State just like Kwankwasiyya Movement in Kano State. Abu Giza does not believe in political god-fatherism. He is somebody who always puts his trust only in God as his pillar.

He stood as the only notable aspirant who purchased his party’s Governorship Nomination Form and automatically became the Gubernatorial flag bearer of the party, despite efforts by some selfish individuals to scuttle his mandate.

Unlike many politicians as I earlier stated, Giza had no political godfather, that rent crowd or need powerful family name to open doors for his ambition. He always puts his hope in God Almighty.

His reputation and influence over the years earned him the ticket by his followers, despite several efforts to block his chances.

He distinguished himself in his journey in the civil service, where he facilitated the recruitment of over one thousand (I000) Nasarawa state indigenes into the Federal Civil Service, irrespective of their tribe or religion.

We can proudly say that Giza is one of the founding fathers for the realization of Nasarawa state given his antecedent in the struggles for the creation of the state out of Plateau State. History and posterity will never forget his efforts in that regard.

Notably among those he struggled together with include the former Governor of Nasarawa State, late Ali Akwe Doma among others.

I believe that when Giza is elected, he will consolidate on the gains on why they struggled to have the state. He will lead by example, he will put God first in his mind above any selfish interest. He will develop the state to the greatest height. Agriculture, Education, HealthCare Delivery, Youth/Women Empowerment, Human Development, Industrialization, Peace Unity and others will get a boost in his administration given his experience in public service.

We honestly need a competent person like Abu Giza with track record in civil service to govern Nasarawa State comes 2027.

Findings revealed that Giza doesn’t have much interest in any political office but it was the clarion call by his committed followers that motivated him to join the race for the 2027 governorship.
