It was a beehive of religious and social event when Islamic scholars, faithful and dignitaries converged on Bauchi, a Northeastern state of Nigeria to commemorate the 125th edition of the birthday celebration of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, a revered leader of the Tijaniyya followers.
Thousands of Muslim faithful within and outside Nigeria had gathered at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi for the 125th edition of the annual Nyass Maulud, a celebration commemorating the birth of the Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass.
The event which was held on January 26, is known for its large gathering and spiritual significance, drawing participants from across Nigeria and beyond.
Esteemed leaders, Islamic scholars and dignitaries including the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, His Wife Dr Aishatu Bala Mohammed, the 15th Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu who represented Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, were among those at the occasion.



Governor Mohammed lauded the Tijaniyya sect for their peaceful conduct, dedication to spiritual growth and contributions to societal harmony.
He urged the sect to continue praying for the peace, unity and development of Nigeria, stressing that religious harmony remains a cornerstone for national progress.
The governor also called on all citizens to join hands in building a stronger, more united nation through mutual respect and understanding across religious divides.
Governor Bala restated his administration’s dedication to providing more dividends of democracy and enhancing the welfare of Islamic scholars.
He expressed profound gratitude to the organizers for choosing Bauchi State as the venue, and for their continuous prayers for peace and development in the state and the nation at large.
Governor Bala said that the critical role of collaboration between government and religious leaders in achieving sustainable progress and harmony.
Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, lauded the organizers for their dedication to spreading knowledge and fostering spiritual growth within the community.
The grand Khalifa of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, Sheikh Mahi Ibrahim Inyass, whose inspiring address underscored the importance of unity, compassion, and interfaith harmony, called on Muslims to fear Allah and appeal to leaders to join hands with their followers to promote peace and unity for development.
