The Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, CP Grimah has expressed gratitude to theCross River Police boss commends Gov. Otu, AIG Zone 6, NUJ, others on violence-free protest violence-free conduct of the 1st August, 2024 nationwide protest which could have put the security operatives on their toes.
The CP said the protest was indeed free of any crime incidence report across the state.
This information was contained in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ugbo Irene and made available to the media.
The CP thanked the collective efforts and cooperation of Cross Riverians which include the traditional rulers, religious institutions, hoteliers, market associations, transport unions, youths groups, student unions, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), corporate bodies, other security agencies, media houses particularly the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ).
He acknowledged the dedicated police personnel of the command for their synergy and unwavering support recorded which he said was highly appreciated.
CP Grimah also expressed gratitude on behalf of the state command to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 6 Headquarters, Calabar, AIG Jonathan Towuru for their exceptional support and advisory roles at various levels.
The statement said that in line with the principles of equity, fairness, and Justice especially in the context of the 21st century policing practice, the Cross River State Command will remain resolute in it’s commitment to proactively discharge of its functions in the state while appealing to the general public uplarge useful information to his office at all time.
