Fellow Nigerians,

We are writing this letter to you as one of the front line support groups, the Tinubu support team that sought your support for the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We admit that presently the situation we find ourselves in this country is bad and worrisome but we must also agree that this worrisome situation was not brought about by the present administration but as a result of the cumulative long term effects of the bad policies and  bad governance of the country by previous administrations.

The present administration was not voted into power indeed to make excuses, but to introduce good policies to move our country forward to its promised destination. The present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu indeed appreciates and recognises this fact and is doing everything it can to make things work and all we need to do is to give it more time as one year is too short in the life of any administration to correct the maladies of the past.

We assure you all that as we wait at the dining table for the meal to be served, the cooks are in the kitchen working tirelessly to make the food ready for all of us. The president and his team of knowledgeable experts in all fields of human endeavour are indeed working in that direction. We also admit that some of the policies introduced by the present administration to take us out of our present economic situation may be harsh on us all but it is a bitter pill prescription we must all swallow as our sacrifice to make our country better for us all and the generations yet unborn.

We must also be thankful to the president for his many palliatives introduced to cushion and soften the burden of these policies. Such programmes like the conditional cash transfer scheme to indigent Nigerians, the distribution of rice and other items to all the states of the federation for distribution to all citizens, the students loan scheme and other palliatives introduced for this purposes is a sure sign that the President hears us and clearly too on the present state of the nation.

We advise you all to have a rethink about the proposed national protest as it will do us no good but rather give an opportunity to evil and anti-democratic forces to take advantage to truncate this hard earned democracy which many of our best paid the supreme price to bring to reality. We must not be deceived by those politicians who in the past played a major role in making us suffer today to truncate the best system of government known to man since its existence: democracy. Our President is a man that loves our country and he is today having sleepless nights to make things work better for us all. We assure you that the present administration if allowed more time will see to it that we overcome the present situation because a pessimist is a well informed optimist. We enjoin all our supporters and all patriotic citizens of Nigeria to be optimistic about the future by saying ‘No to the planned national protest’ by the opponents of the present administration. We are not supporting the President blindly as we are also suffering from the same effect of the policies of the government which we all know with time will germinate into a harvest which will be so bountiful to make our country better. We have no regret whatsoever supporting the President because we know he means well. The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration will indeed serve as the beginning of the end of the many problems of the country and we enjoin all citizens to give him more time.

Finally, as a group we are indeed meeting with the present administration to seek dialogue with the citizens and listen to the demands of the citizenry because United we stand and divided we fall. We admit that protest against the policies and actions of governments is a democratic right but when the signs are clear that it is done out of malice and can be used for ulterior motives as the proposed one, patriotic citizens will be asked to set it aside. Say No to the proposed strike.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Convener, Tinubu Support Team
