The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspected armed rubbers terrorizing the state.
A statement made available to newsmen by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel said “investigation revealed that the suspects usually pose as taxi drivers to pick unsuspecting passengers, drive away to unknown destinations, and dispossess them of money and other belongings, after which the victims are abandoned”
The duo of 52 year old Chibuize Orji and 45 years old Jibrin Mohammed were arrested by the Angwan Lambu Division of Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
“Police operatives attached to Anguwan Lambu Division, Keffi have arrested the duo of Chibuieze Orji ‘M’ 52yrs and Jibrin Mohammed ‘M’ 45yrs, members of an armed robbery gang usually referred to as One Chance which operates on Akwanga-Keffi-Abuja express way”
The PPRO explained that the suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime as they have admitted to have been operating for over 10 years where many have been and robbed by them.
He further noted that the suspects were recently released from Shendam Correctional Service Centre in Plateau State for similar offence.
According to the Command, items recovered from the suspects included a Toyota carina II vehicle with registration number Abuja CO 212 ABC, one Axe and Hammer.
The Command said the suspects would be charged to court after investigation as it’s assured members of the public that the Command shall be relentless in its fight against crime in the State and solicit their collaboration.
