Borno State has reviewed the gains of its five-year deliberate push toward public sector digitalization, remarking that it has revolutionized governance for good.
Borno State, last week, won the prestigious national recognition for public sector digitization.
The Nigeria GovTech Conference & Awards is an annual event organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) under the Presidency to evaluate and reward digital transformation across public institutions.
The 2026 edition took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (BOSCHMA), Dr. Sale Abba Kaza, made the implementation of the policy in the state while speaking to newsmen in Maiduguri, weekend.
Dr. Kaza attributed the state’s ability to win the recognition to what he described as deep-seated technological reforms that have revolutionized healthcare delivery across the strata of the society.
According to BOSCHMA Executive Secretary, the state clinched the GovTech honor due to its sweeping structural shift from traditional bureaucracy to tech-driven governance in the health sector.
Dr. Kaza outlined key milestones that, according to him, caught the national jury’s attention, which include End-to-End Digitalization spanning enrollment platforms, customer care, self-enrollment systems, referral frameworks, and financial transactions.
They also include Centralized Control Center, which showcases state-of-the-art data hub in Maiduguri that provides real-time data visualization across piloted healthcare facilities as well as Electronic Health Records, which features the deployment of a centralized Electronic Health Record (EHR) system tailored specifically to Borno’s local healthcare landscape..
