The proscribed workers in Taraba State civil service represented by the government as “ghost workers” on Monday staged the 3rd protest over unpaid 7 months salaries.

The alleged ghost workers claimed that they have done all necessary procedures laid down by the state government but were still not considered for payment since seven months ago.
Mr. Abdurahul Sani, the chairman of the alleged ghost workers forum expressed during the protest that over 4000 workers were being unlawfully denied their entitlement under the claims of ghost workers by the Taraba state government.
According to him, “over 5000 of us were declared ghost workers, after which 500 were asked to go for Biometric. The 500 workers were recalled and started receiving their salaries” He explained.
The alleged ghost workers’ chairman said the remaining 4000 workers were later called for verification but since then, have not been considered for payment.
“Out of over 4900 workers that were declared as ghost, 500 were called for Biometric and have started receiving their salaries”. He said.
“The remaining of us were later called for the same verification but since then, we have not received anything.
“The governor has been promising us for the past 7 months. We have taken our plea to his mother and pastor who promised to work things for us but up to this moment, we have not started receiving salaries.
“Our members are already dying. The governor should be human as a pastor that he is”, they appealed.
Responding, the chief of staff government house administration, Dr. Jeji Williams, told the alleged ghost workers that government was still looking into the matter though without certainty.
The governor’s chief of staff said the government was still collecting data and financial statistics to tackle the matter.
“Although, the reality is far but I want to assure you that government is still taking data and financial statistics to tackle your matter. I appeal for more patience to enable government complete the process,” he said.
Citizenship  Daily reports that the alleged ghost workers have vowed to remain at the government house gate until their situation is properly addressed.
