The Chairman of Taraba State Association of Local Government Councils (ALGON), Hon. Moses Maihankali, has urged citizens to be security conscious during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Hon. Maihankali, who is also the Council Boss of Kurmi Local Government, gave the advice in Jalingo on Monday, emphasized the need for citizens to be vigilant and not allow others to take advantage of the celebrations.
He commended Governor Dr Agbu Kefas for his excellent performance in the area of security, stating that the governor’s efforts have contributed to the prevailing peace in the state.
“We urge citizens to be security conscious during this festive period. We should not allow others to take advantage of the celebration to perpetrate evil.”
Hon. Maihankali also appreciated Governor Kefas for mobilizing contractors back to site to continue work on the Kurmi road and other road projects in the state.
He expressed confidence that the governor’s efforts would bring development and prosperity to the state.
The ALGON chair noted that the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development was commendable and would improve the lives of Taraba residents.
He further urged residents to report any suspicious activities to the authorities and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a peaceful celebration.
“We appreciate the governor for mobilizing contractors back to site to continue the Kurmi road and other roads he has embarked on in the state,” he said.
