Apostle Yakubu charges Christians to prepare for end times

From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Senior Pastor of House of Purpose Ministry in Kaduna, Apostle Yakubu Yusuf, has charged Christians to prepare adequately for the judgment hour of God and where to spend eternity.

He made this charge in a sermon he delivered during the Church service in Kaduna today, Sunday.

Speaking on the topic “Understanding the end time and drawing inspiration from the Book of Matthew 24:3-13 and Matthew 24:34 – 37,” he expressed dismay that people are living as if there is no eternity.

He however said the scripture revealed that men will either spend their lives in Heaven or Hell depending on the choice they make via their ways of life and services to God.

Apostle Yakubu admonished that all Christians must reconcile with God through Jesus Christ and live righteously while on earth.

He further said there would be judgment for the righteous and unbelievers, and that as a result, God has put measures in place to bring men to himself.

He lamented that happenings across the world today are a pointer to the end time which is near, citing 1 Timothy 1-5, the cleric warned that there is no time to be closer to God than now.

He advised the congregants to live for God, be thankful not to be proud, saying these are the signs of the end times.

Apostle Yakubu highlighted personal, spiritual, financial, marital, ministerial, and family barrenness that people face in life, which could only be overcome through prayer.

“Technically speaking, we’ve been in the ‘end times’ for the last 2,000 years. Peter wrote that Jesus Christ was made manifest in these last times (1 Peter 1:20). Paul explained that biblical examples were recorded “for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Corinthians 10:11).

He warned that end times are the final phase of God’s plan before the return of Jesus Christ, noting that they’re the era we’re living in right now—the same era that the early Church existed in as well.

According to him, the signs of the end times include ” Love of Believers Will Grow Cold”

In Matthew 24:12, it says, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

Citing Matthew 24:12 he stated that as the world gets darker, the Light will shine brighter, but that also means that many complacent believers will become cold in their love towards Christ.

“I see two things happening at once – a huge revival in the Church and many Christians becoming complacent and lukewarm.

“Revival and disappointment are occurring at the same time. We are seeing a huge surge of people mocking the supernatural, liberal pastors supporting homosexuality, and progressive Christianity embracing sin.

“Another reason believers’ love is growing cold is that they are consumed with materialism which is causing their hearts to be weighed down by the cares of this life”

Apostle Yakubu said that Christians should repent and avoid a sinful lifestyle, live with a consciousness of eternity, and strive to uphold the word of Godwin.
