The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has expressed the state government’s determination to build roads that would enhance trade and commercial activities in the state.
He said this in his remarks during the commissioning ceremony of twelve asphaltic roads within Kaduna metropolis initiated and completed by his administration held in Kaduna today (Tuesday).
According to him, his administration considers building good-quality roads as critical to improving vehicular movement and giving businesses, especially farming in rural areas an enablement to thrive.
Governor Uba Sani further said that the new roads ‘’will reduce travel time, enhance security, boost trade and commerce, and foster social interaction among our citizens.
He added that the completed roads will enhance connectivity and accessibility for residents, farmers, business owners, and other road users in Kaduna and environs.
“These roads are not just for transportation; they are conduits for economic growth, social interaction, and community development.
“Today’s road commissioning symbolizes the progress we are making together as a community and reflects our collective aspirations for a better tomorrow.
” I therefore urge all stakeholders, community leaders, local government officials, and citizens to take ownership of these roads.
“Let us work together to ensure they are well-maintained and utilized to their fullest potential”
He said the roads commissioned are Abdulkadir Road, Bissau Road, Unguwan Muazu Township Roads, Water Intake Road, and Off Yakubu Gowan Residential Layout Roads.
Others are Kawo Layout Roads, Off ‘Yan Abskpa Road, State House Roads Network, Stadium to Station Roundabouts; Residential Layout, off Gobarau Road; Residential Layout, Off Kinshasa Road, Sultan-Surame Road, and Ohinoyi Road.
Governor Sani disclosed that during his inauguration as Governor, he made a solemn pledge to the good people of Kaduna State that he would spread development to all parts of the state by embarking on comprehensive renewal and regeneration of infrastructure.
He stressed that his administration has been matching words with action, by aggressively pursuing its Rural Transformation Agenda because it holds the key to unlocking the enormous potential of the State in the agricultural and informal sectors, as well as frontally addressing the problems of poverty,
unemployment, and insecurity.
” We are equally addressing the infrastructure deficits in areas inhabited by the urban poor.
” One of the critical infrastructures we have prioritized is road infrastructure. Well-constructed roads are the backbone of economic activity, enhancing transportation, connecting people and businesses, and connecting farmers and citizens to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.”
Governor Sani added that his administration in the second quarter of 2025, shall commission other roads across the State amongst are which are, a 5.525km asphaltic road from Airport Road to Tudun Biri Community, Kaduna State,
” 2.6km asphaltic roads within the Old Panteka Market, Kaduna State (Lemu, Enugu, Malam Madori Roads),
” 15km road connecting Kasuwar Magani to Wusar in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, and 6km asphaltic road from Rafin Guza to Hayin Na’iya to Malalin Gabas to Kukumaki, linking the ongoing construction at KASU Permanent Site, Kaduna State.
” 5.8km road from Gwaraji to Wusar, connecting Igabi and Kajuru Local Government Areas, Kaduna State.
“13km road connecting Turawa to Dinyathrough Da’a, Kurungupi, and Kadage in Soba Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
“. 14.8km Asphaltic ring road from Danbushiya Junction to Danhonou 2 through Keke A, Keke B, Keke Makera, Doka Mai Jama’a, and Sabon Gero in Millennium City, Chikun LGA, Kaduna State.
“21.95km asphaltic road from Madauchi to Kafanchan through Madakiya, including a branch to Matsirga Waterfalls, linking Jema’a and Zangon Kataf LGAs, Kaduna State.
“21.85km asphaltic road from Pambeguwa to Kauru through Kahuta, linking Kubau and Kauru LGAs, Kaduna State.
1.78km 300 Beds Hospital Crescent Road with branches and exit link at Unguwan Maaji, Millennium City, Chikun LGA, Kaduna State.
“Abdullahi Yero Asphaltic Road, Abakpa, Kaduna, 35km road from Gadan Gayan through Gwaraji to Kujama junction, linking Igabi to Chikun Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
“35.6km Road from Bagoma to Gagumi through Unguwan Fari, Idi Labo, Awaro, Tashan Keji, and Sabon Layi, in Birnin Gwari LGA, Kaduna State.
” Construction of Asphalt Road from Unguwan Rimi Bridge to NEPA Roundabout and Hospital Road, Kafanchan
” 25km Road from Rigachikun – Tami – Birnin Yero in Igabi LGA ,6km Asphaltic Road from Sabon Tasha to Juji Road, Chikun LGA. 31km Road from Ikara – Sayasaya – Palla, Ikara LGA
“12km Road from Giwa – Yakawada, Giwa LGA. 22.5km Road from Gwantu through Kibam to Godogodo,” he said.
