The aspirants of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Taraba State under the aegis of Taraba State APC Aspirants Forum, Friday cautioned members of the party in the state whom they alleged, are destroying the party in a fight to achieve selfish aims.
Recently, some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress APC in Taraba State had approached the media disowning a donation of six million Naira donated by Senator representing Taraba South,  Send. David Jimkuta, saying that the beneficiaries of the money were not APC members but members of other political parties.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the Forum, Hon Jeff Mashi and issued to Journalists in Jalingo at the weekend, the ‘APC Aspirants’ Forum, expressed shock over the publication, stating that it was sponsored by enemies who do not mean well for the success of the party in the state.
The Aspirants stated that the publication titled, “APC disowns Senator Jimkuta’s 6 Million gift to ‘aspirants’, denies one million donation to party”, published in Taraba Truth and Fact, was one of the usual acts of enemies of the party who have gain mastery of causing disunity among members of the party any time the party strives to bring her members under one accord.
The forum wondered if truly such persons were members of APC, and challenged them to come out boldly and tell the whole world that they, did not bought forms to contest elections under the platform of the party and  denied the opportunity of going in for primaries for obvious reasons.
While lauding the leadership dexterity of Senator Jimkuta, the Forum stated that  APC in Taraba was just like a sheep without Shepherd but with the coming of Senator Jimkuta, members of the party are confident that the part would surely take  its rightful place in the coming elections.
“We believed in the leadership style of Senator Jimkuta. In fact, there is no person as transparent as Senator Jimkuta in Taraba State APC.
“We the members of APC Aspirant Forum, under the chairmanship of Hon. Jeff Mashi, Will remain committed to the survival and the constitution of the party as well as the leadership of the party at the state and national level because  we are the soul of the party.
“Whoever said we are not rightful members of APC in Taraba State for the senator to meet with us is rather the one that is not a member of the party but an agent working to destroy the party in Taraba state.
“We want to also request that the problem of Taraba state APC be taken seriously to make sure that we have a viable and cogent leadership of the party in the state”. The statement added.
The Forum noted that it was out of compassion and struggle for the growth of the party that the Senator decided to call both the party executive and the aggrieved aspirants to make sure that they all work in harmony to build the party as one body.
While urging Senator Jimkuta not to be carried away by destructors but go ahead with the good work he started in building a solid, united and viable APC in Taraba State, the Forum called on all the aggrieved members who fell out following what it described as the mess in the 2023 election to come back to the party as to enable them work towards winning the 2027 elections, especially now that they have Senator Jimkuta as a listening leader and father of the party in the state.
They commend the Distinguished senator for the gesture of N 6 million given as transport fairs to its members who came from various constituencies  to attend the meeting to enable them go back without hitches and prayed God to grant him more wisdom.
