The incident was said to have occurred less than 24 hours after some members of the community allegedly alerted the Benue State Government and other relevant security agencies about planned attack by suspected herdsmen in the area.
A member of the community, who pleaded anonymity, said the incident happened between 12 midnight and 1am on Sunday 14 September, 2025, when gunmen stormed the community.
According to him, several persons were reportedly missing during the invasion, explaining that information was received in the community on 12/9/25 alerting both the state government and security agencies on alleged planned attack on some border settlements in Guma LGA.
“Today 14/9/25 at about 12:45 hours, some farmers were attacked at Tse Akor Gbatse, a village in Mbamar clan, Nyiev Council Ward, situated behind a Primary School called, ‘Thank You Suswam’, located some few meters to Daudu town, off Daudu-Lafia road.
“The report clearly disclosed that some suspected Fulani fighters camped at Rukubi town, Doma LGA of Nasarawa state, alongside their cohorts were planing to launch attack on some border settlements in Guma LGA, on allegation that their three children were missing a week ago”, he stated.
According to the resident, when the armed herders finally stormed the community, they shot and killed one Mr Tachia Akor, inflicted severe injuries on his wife, and one Mrs. Mbagbedi Tsetim.
He stated further that those injured have been evacuated to Adi hospital in Daudu town, while many other farmers were allegedly missing as at the time of filing this report.
According to him, the deceased body has also been deposited at Daudu mogue.
“Note that the yesterday intelligence highlighted the movement of the terrorist and mentioned specific target border areas of possible attack which Tse Akor village was among, and warned residents in those areas to be conscious of their movement, but the incident still happened.
“Findings further reveal that some of the suspected terrorist are still sighted traversing some deserted villages and communities in Guma LGA at that axis.
“Necessary steps must be taken to flush out those terrorist using such areas as their hideouts”, he said
