Some returning students of the Nigerian Law School (NLS), Bagauda Campus, Kano, are feared to have been attacked by some armed robbers who seized money and valuables from the hapless students.
The daredevil armed robbers were said to have dispossessed the ill-fated students of their valuables, including money, laptops and Body of Benchers recommendation forms.
According to sources, this occurred early on Saturday morning around 1am, immediately the vehicle carrying the students stopped at the Bagauda road Junction, off Zaria-Kano expressway.
The students were said to have only completed their three months Externship, preparatory to embarking on the final leg of their academic training before taking their Final Bar Examinations.
The students were said to be shouting and wailing during the attack, but no help came.
There were claims that some policemen were on duty at the Bagauda junction at the time of the attack.
The armed robbers were said to be numbering over 30 who attacked the students.
They were said to be mainly asking for food items, drugs and provisions.
Inside sources within the Law School Campus said the students were discussing the incident in groups, but refused to volunteer any information for fear of the backlash.
Those who were said to be victims of the attack also refused to speak.
The Deputy Director-General of the Campus, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed, could not be reached for a comment.
Meanwhile, students of the campus have embarked on fund raising to assist their unfortunate colleagues to buy food and other essential items.
Some students contacted on this refused to speak. One said “we have no approval to speak to anyone on that unfortunate incident”.
