From Edirin Robinson in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command successfully thwarted an attack by armed bandits, neutralizing two of the assailants and recovering their firearms.

According to DSP Mansir Hassan, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, the incident occurred on January 11, 2026, around 9:30 AM. Police received credible intelligence about a group of bandits, led by Kachalla Sanusi Bajira, who were planning to attack residents of Idisu Village.

In response, Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad directed the Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to lead a team of operatives in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to the scene. Upon arrival, the police engaged the bandits in a gunfight.

The attackers were quickly overpowered by the superior firepower of the police operatives, resulting in the neutralization of two bandits and the recovery of their firearms. Additionally, the police seized extra firearms and five live rounds of ammunition from the fleeing bandits.

Commissioner Rabiu Muhammad praised the bravery and professionalism of the operatives involved in preventing the attack, reaffirming the Police Command’s commitment to aggressive and intelligence-driven operations against banditry, kidnapping, and all forms of violent crime.

The Commissioner warned criminals that Kaduna State will not be a safe haven for them, emphasizing that the police will continue to pursue and bring perpetrators to justice.
