From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna
Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command and other security agencies have foiled a kidnap attempt by gunmen on Wednesday night on Alhaji Umar Musa, the paramount ruler of Ninzo Chiefdom in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Police Public Relations Officer ((PPRO), ASP Mansir Hassan, however, said the whereabouts of the chief’s wife were still unknown.
He added that security operatives have since been deployed to the forests around Sanga in search of the wife
Also the Ninzo Development Association, in a statement signed by its President and Secretary, Prof. Moses Audi and Silas Anche, respectively, condemned the planned kidnap of their traditional ruler which led to the disappearance of his wife.
The statement, however, called for calm to allow the government to live up to its responsibility.
Alhaji Musa ascended the throne peacefully after the demise of the late laramount ruler, Alhaji Ibrahim Yakubu the (UCHU NINZO 14th.)
Heavily armed bandits stormed the palace of the traditional ruler, but the police and other security agencies on the ground engaged them in a gun duel and the bandits were said to have fled back to the forest due to the superior firepower of the security agencies.
