From Femi Mustapha, in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two notorious gun runners and recovered four locally-made rifles, four locally-made pistols, and four motorcycles.

According to DSP Mansir Hassan, PPRO of the Kaduna State Police Command, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, the suspects were arrested on August 5, 2025, in Kurmin Kogi village area, following credible intelligence reports about their activities.

The suspects, Isah Bello and Sa’idu Haruna, both residents of Damdami village, Richifa Ward, Soba LGA, were arrested by operatives of the Command from Ikara Division.

The suspects led detectives to their hideout, where the arms were recovered.

During the operation, one of the suspects attempted to evade arrest and assaulted an Inspector of Police, causing injury to the officer’s face.

In a separate operation, police detectives from the Dan Magaji division apprehended a suspect, Shamsudeen Haruna, 36 years old, of Galadimawa, Giwa Local Government Area, for stealing motorcycles.

Four motorcycles were recovered from him, and he confessed to the crime. The suspect belonged to a notorious syndicate that had been terrorizing Zaria, Giwa, and its environs.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the gallantry exhibited by the operatives involved and reiterated the Command’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements.

He warned the leadership of market associations to be watchful of the activities of their members, as whoever is caught receiving stolen motorcycles will face the full wrath of the law.

The CP appreciated the guidance and unwavering support from IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetekun and the Logistics support, encouragement, and guidance from His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani.

He encouraged the officers and men of the command to be hardworking to ensure peace and security for the entire State.
