The Senate Caucus of the opposition Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has set up a panel of former Governors who completed their terms as members of the party as well as present and former leaders of the party still in the Senate to interface with the leadership of the PDP with the view to enuring that all court matters are resolved to pave way for amicable resolution of the crisis rocking the party.

The caucus also resolved and called on various interests within the PDP to first consider the overall interest of Nigeria and close ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections .

Briefing reporters after their meeting, Senate minority leader Senator Patrick Abba Moro said the meeting was a deliberate move to resolve all the lingering crisis in party and to also reposition it as the vehicle through which Nigeria’s lost glory will be restored.

According to him,” we the members of the PDP caucus in the Senate just rose from our usual meeting and after surveying the issues within our party we have resolved to set up and expanded caucus of the party involving former Governors and other leaders to engage the leadership of our party to resolve all the crisis in the party”

He said, “we want to also advise all party members with cases in the various courts ,we believe that when we come together we will be able provide Nigerians with good leadership.

“We are ready to provide an alternative platform for Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming elections and everybody should work to achieve this”

He debunked insinuations that the PDP was factionalized insisting that,”Our party is not factionalized, there are only contending forces in the party and we will resolve all that “.

“Everybody must be ready to make the sacrifice set aside all personal ambitions”.

The former Governors who completed there tenures on the platform of the PDP are Former Sokoto state Governor ,Aminu Waziri Tambuwal , former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, former Kebbi state Governor Adamu Aliero .
